The Brazilian Aerospace and Defense industry is a strong segment in the country´s economy presenting an impressive growth and worldwide projection. EMBRAER leads this industry and as recognized as one of the four major aerospace manufacturers of commercial aircraft and with a growing presence in the defense and business aviation markets.

A large number of Brazilian companies operate as supplier of components and parts to EMBRAER , but the capacity to deliver integrated aircraft segments is not available.

Existing supply chain is complete but not integrated to respond to market need and there is a growing demand for integrated aircraft segments in Brazil and abroad.

Amongst all companies of the local supply chain Akaer, as an established engineering company, has the management capabilities required to lead the effort for the establishment of this 1st Tier Aerostructures integrator to meet the market demands:

Known, certified and well accepted engineering services provider for airframe segments to major OEMs on the military and commercial sectors;
Presence on the local, North American and European markets;
Experienced work force and up to date engineering tools and processes;
Large network and partnership with other Brazilian companies integrated in the aerostructure market, covering a significant amount of the development, manufacturing and associated services.

Understanding the market conditions and a favorable environment, Akaer invited other companies to form the T1 ( Tier 1) consortium.

Besides Akaer , the T1 consortium is composed by Inbra Aerospace, Friuli, Minoica and Winnstal.

The T1 consortium was contracted in June, 2009 to participate in the development of the SAAB´s Gripen NG.

The Contract involves T1 in the development and production of the central and fuselages wings and main landing gear door of the Gripen NG
