Full Cargo and Quick Change

In 1998/1999 Akaer provided to Embraer a conversion design to transform the EMB 120 Brasilia from passenger transport into the Full Cargo and Quick Change cargo versions; the Quick Change version allows the aircraft to operate as either passenger/cargo or cargo only configurations.

Akaer was fully responsible for the stress analysis, complete design, systems reconfiguration, technical reports, management of manufacturing and assembling up to the final certification of the aircraft.

Main activities were:

· Removal of passenger seats, galley, toilet and interior item from the original aircraft
· Installation of cargo nets and means to load/unload the cargo
· Door and Fuselage structures re-design
· Modification of systems to reduce aircraft weight and to adequate them to new operational requirements
· Following systems were re-designed: Air Conditioning, Electric, Fire Detection and Protection, Lighting, Oxygen, Water and Waste and Indicating and Recording
